Dev Build for Project Luna

Build for beta testing Project Luna, not Public Facing.

Gamepad Required.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks so much for agreeing to be a beta tester for Project Luna! I really appreciate it, your feedback will help make the game that much better.

Please keep in mind Project Luna is still in its very early stages, so a lot of the game is rough in areas, and you're likely to run into bugs.

This build is to evaluate the basic combat mechanics and concept of the game. Play through the tutorial, then challenge the combat tower and level up your character as you progress, unlocking new skills.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you'd like to unlock all the skills from the start

Enter the Konami code on the pause menu and you will be given enough skill points to unlock all the abilities in the skill tree. (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a)

Some known issues:

  • Occasionally when moving through the menus too quickly the next menu wont load and the game will soft lock. The only solution in this case is alt+f4
  • Holding L2 while the game loads will sometimes attempt to open the Combat Menu, causing time to slow down but releasing the button does not return time to normal.
  • Various camera behavior issues, especially during the Homing Attack
  • Occasionally Menu buttons will lose focus when transitioning to new menus and you will not be able to navigate the menu with the game pad. In this instance, the mouse should still work, clicking on a button should refocus the controller.

The game is quite interesting, with many mechanics to improve your character and create new combos. It also reminded me of other titles I’ve played before, like Bayonetta, because of its combat style. What I liked the most was the combo system, which is really fun, along with the design of the health and special bars.

As I kept playing, there were some things I didn’t fully enjoy—for example, having to transform with L3+R3. If you’re close to an enemy, it won’t let you transform because it keeps locking onto the enemy. Also, I think the shortcut button for abilities would work better on R1, since L1 is used for the shield, and it feels a bit awkward.

I also found a few bugs I’d like to share. The first one happened accidentally: when entering the door that takes you to the next floor, suddenly in the combat room a pink door appeared floating in the air, but when I played again it didn’t happen. Another one was more intentional, since I love trying everything—I tested the skill that launches forward with a flurry of punches on the pink door that leads to the next floor, and I ended up going through it.

Finally, there was a bug that happened to me twice with the abilities: for some reason, they worked at the beginning but stopped working as I progressed through the floors, even with shortcuts or from the abilities menu. Also, I don’t know why, but when I go to the menu to assign abilities to shortcuts, it won’t let me select the first slot. I have to move down and then back up to assign an ability.

I hope this helps in some way, since the game is really fun and I believe it has the potential to become a great game. Keep it up!
